The Food & Groove Festival is a fun and friendly community event taking place on 6th August 2022 that celebrates the best of Manchester’s food and music scene.
This is our inaugural year and as a volunteer you will be an important part of the team to help the event run smoothly. At any given festival, there are a lot of moving parts. Music playing from stages, food and drink vendors jockey for attention, and loads of people mill about as they participate in the excitement. With so much going on, it’s easy to forget that there’s an entire team working behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly. From the moment the gates open to the moment the last person leaves, these unsung heroes are busy making sure that everyone has a safe and fun time.
We ask all volunteers to complete 8 hours of shifts at the festival. In return for your time and effort, all volunteers receive a ticket to the festival, as well as a meal and refreshments. The Food & Groove Festival is a great opportunity to meet new people and have fun while giving back to the community. We hope you’ll consider volunteering in one of the following roles with us!
Stewarding – One of the best things about stewarding is that you get to be right in the thick of the action at the festival. You’re not just there to provide information to the public; you’re also there to help create a fun and friendly atmosphere. It’s a great way to meet new people and to feel like you’re part of a community. And, of course, it’s also a lot of fun! If you’re looking for a way to get involved with Food & Groove festival, then stewarding is definitely a fabulous role for you.
First Aid Stewards – One of the key features of the festival is its first aid provision, and we are looking for volunteers who hold an up-to-date first aid certificate to help us provide this essential service. As a first aid volunteer, you will be an important point of contact with the public and be responsible for providing basic medical care to festival-goers who have sustained minor injuries or fallen ill.
Litter Picker Stewards – Another important part of this team is the group of environmental stewards. A clean and healthy environment is important to everyone. By tidying the grounds, picking up litter and sending it for recycling, they help to keep the environment safe and pleasant for everyone. And because festivals bring people together from all walks of life, it’s a great way to build community spirit and make new friends. So if you’re looking for a fun and friendly way to do your bit for the environment, why not become a festival steward?
Accessibility Stewards are another essential part of making our festival fun and inclusive for everyone. As the main point of contact between the festival and our disabled customers, you will play a vital role in ensuring that everyone has a great time. In addition to providing information and assistance, you will also help to create a sense of community among our disabled customers. We are looking for friendly, outgoing people who are passionate about making our festival accessible to all. If you have a positive attitude and a desire to make a difference, then we want you on our team!
Hospitality Stewards – As anyone who has ever been to a festival knows, there is always a lot of work that goes into making sure everything runs smoothly. From setting up stages to handling logistics, there are a million different tasks that need to be taken care of. But none of this would be possible without the hard work of the festival’s hospitality stewards. These dedicated individuals prepare refreshments and snacks for the festival crew and volunteers, making sure everyone has the energy they need to keep going. They also provide a welcoming space for people to take a break and relax. In many ways, they are the heart of the festival, creating a fun and friendly community that makes everyone feel welcome. Without them, the festival simply would not be possible. This is another great opportunity to give something back to your community and make a difference at a fun and vibrant event. If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!
